What is NOVA SYSTEMS USA?

How much do solar panels cost?

The cost varies by system size, but most residential installations range from $15,000-$30,000 before incentives. With federal tax credits (30%) and Mass Save® rebates (up to $1,000), your net cost is significantly reduced. We offer $0 down financing options.

How long does solar installation take?

Most installations are completed in 1-3 days. The full process from consultation to activation typically takes 6-12 weeks, including design, permitting, and utility approval.

Will solar panels work in Massachusetts winters?

Yes! Solar panels actually work more efficiently in cold weather. While shorter days mean less sunlight hours, modern panels generate plenty of power year-round. Snow typically slides off tilted panels quickly.

What happens if I move?

Solar panels increase home value by an average of 4.1%. Most buyers see solar as a valuable asset. You can also transfer the solar financing agreement to the new homeowner in most cases.

How much will I save on electricity?

Most customers save 70-90% on their electric bills. Average savings are $1,500-$2,500 per year in Massachusetts, depending on your energy usage and system size.

Do I need to replace my roof before installing solar?

If your roof is more than 15 years old or needs repairs, it's best to address that first. We offer roofing services and can coordinate both projects to save you time and money.

What happens during a power outage?

Standard solar systems shut down during outages for safety reasons. However, if you add battery storage, you can maintain power to essential loads during outages and continue using solar energy.

How long do solar panels last?

Quality solar panels typically last 25-30 years or more. Most come with 25-year performance warranties guaranteeing at least 85% output after 25 years.

Will solar panels damage my roof?

No! When installed properly by certified professionals like NOVA SYSTEMS, solar mounting systems actually protect the roof underneath. We use specialized flashing and waterproofing to prevent any leaks.

Can I install solar myself to save money?

While DIY solar is technically possible, we strongly advise against it. Professional installation ensures proper permits, electrical connections, warranties, and safety. Mistakes can be dangerous and costly. Plus, many incentives require professional installation.

What maintenance do solar panels require?

Very little! Solar panels have no moving parts. Occasional cleaning (2-4 times per year) helps maintain efficiency, but rain often does the job. We offer monitoring and maintenance plans to ensure optimal performance.

How do I know if my home is suitable for solar?

The ideal home has a south-facing roof with minimal shade, but east and west-facing roofs can also work well. We provide free site assessments using satellite imagery and on-site evaluations to determine your home's solar potential.

What are net metering credits?

Net metering allows you to send excess solar energy to the grid and receive credits on your utility bill. In Massachusetts, you get credited at the full retail rate, making solar even more valuable. These credits roll over month-to-month.

Can I add more panels later?

Yes! We can design systems with future expansion in mind. However, it's often more cost-effective to install your full desired capacity upfront due to economies of scale and permit costs.

What brands of solar panels do you install?

We install premium brands including REC, Qcells, Silfab, and other tier-1 manufacturers. All come with 25-year warranties and proven track records of reliability and efficiency.
