Does NOVA SYSTEMS install roofs directly?

We partner with carefully vetted, 5-star rated roofing contractors throughout Massachusetts. This allows us to connect you with the best local professionals while ensuring quality standards are met and coordinating seamlessly with solar installations.

Should I replace my roof before installing solar?

If your roof is more than 15 years old or needs repairs, it's best to address that before solar installation. We can coordinate both projects for maximum efficiency, ensuring your roof is solar-ready and you won't need to remove panels later for roof work.

How do I know if my roof needs replacement?

Signs include: shingles that are curling, cracked, or missing; roof age over 20 years; granule loss (black spots); leaks or water damage; sagging areas. We provide free roof assessments as part of our solar consultation.

What roofing materials do your partners work with?

Our partner network installs all major roofing materials including asphalt shingles (3-tab and architectural), metal roofing, slate, tile, and flat roof systems. We'll recommend the best option for your home and budget.

Are your roofing partners licensed and insured?

Yes! Every roofing contractor in our network is fully licensed, bonded, and insured with general liability and workers' compensation coverage. We only work with professionals who meet our strict quality and safety standards.

What warranties are included with roofing?

Warranties vary by contractor and materials, but typically include 10-30 year manufacturer warranties on materials and 5-10 year workmanship warranties. Premium materials like architectural shingles often come with 50-year warranties.

How long does a roof replacement take?

Most residential roof replacements are completed in 1-3 days, depending on size and complexity. We work efficiently to minimize disruption while ensuring quality workmanship.

Can you repair my roof instead of replacing it?

Yes! If your roof is relatively new and damage is localized, repairs may be sufficient. We'll provide honest recommendations based on your roof's condition and what makes the most financial sense.

Will you handle the insurance claim for roof damage?

Our roofing partners can assist with insurance claims for storm damage. They'll document damage, provide estimates, and work with your insurance adjuster to ensure you receive fair compensation.

How much does a new roof cost?

Costs vary based on size, materials, and complexity, but most residential roofs range from $8,000-$20,000. We provide detailed estimates and work with you to find options within your budget.

Can I get a roof and solar installed at the same time?

Yes! This is actually ideal. We coordinate both projects to ensure proper sequencing—roof first, then solar. This saves time, reduces costs, and ensures your solar installation is optimized for the new roof.

What's the best roofing material for solar panels?

Asphalt shingles and standing seam metal roofs are both excellent for solar. Metal roofs last 40-70 years and offer easy solar mounting. Architectural shingles (30-50 year lifespan) are also popular and cost-effective.

Will solar panels damage my new roof?

No! When installed properly by certified professionals, solar mounting systems actually protect the roof underneath. We use specialized flashing and waterproofing techniques to prevent any leaks.

Do you offer roof inspections?

Yes! We provide free roof assessments when you're considering solar. If you're not interested in solar yet but need a roof evaluation, contact us and we'll connect you with our trusted partners.

What happens if I need roof repairs after solar is installed?

If roof work is needed, we can temporarily remove and reinstall the solar panels. This is why we emphasize addressing roof issues before solar installation—it saves you the cost and hassle of panel removal.
