What is NOVA SYSTEMS USA?

Your trusted partner for sustainable home energy solutions. Specializing in Mass Save® programs, HVAC, Solar, Roofing, and Battery Storage.

Mass Save® is an energy efficiency initiative sponsored by Massachusetts gas and electric utilities, including Eversource, National Grid, and Unitil. It provides rebates, incentives, and services to help residents and businesses reduce energy consumption and lower utility bills while decreasing their carbon footprint.

How do I know if I'm eligible for Mass Save® programs?

Most Massachusetts residents served by participating utilities are eligible. This includes homeowners, renters (with landlord approval), and property owners of 1-4 unit buildings. Income-eligible customers may qualify for enhanced benefits with even higher rebates and free services.

What rebates are available through Mass Save®?

Mass Save® offers rebates on heat pumps (up to $16,000), insulation and air sealing (up to 100% covered), heat pump water heaters ($750-$1,500), ENERGY STAR appliances, smart thermostats, LED lighting, and more. Specific rebate amounts depend on your utility provider and income eligibility.

What is a Home Energy Assessment and is it really free?

Yes! A Home Energy Assessment is completely free and typically takes 2-3 hours. A certified energy specialist will evaluate your home's energy use, identify areas for improvement, install free energy-saving products (like LED bulbs and smart power strips), and recommend upgrades that qualify for rebates.

How does NOVA SYSTEMS help with Mass Save®?

NOVA SYSTEMS guides you through the entire Mass Save® process. We help you schedule your free home energy assessment, identify which rebates you qualify for, connect you with qualified Home Performance Contractors (HPCs) in the Mass Save® network, complete all paperwork and rebate applications, and coordinate with utility companies on your behalf.

Is NOVA SYSTEMS a Home Performance Contractor (HPC)?

No, NOVA SYSTEMS is not an HPC ourselves. We are a Mass Save® Partner Affiliate that connects you with certified Home Performance Contractors in the Mass Save® network. This ensures you work with qualified professionals while we handle the coordination and paperwork.

How long does it take to receive my rebates?

Rebate processing times vary by utility and rebate type. Most rebates are processed within 4-8 weeks after your project is completed and all required documentation is submitted. Some rebates may be applied directly to your project cost upfront (instant rebates).

What is the Mass Save® HEAT Loan?

The HEAT Loan (Home Energy Assistance Technology) is a zero-interest financing option available through Mass Save® for qualified individuals. You can borrow up to $25,000 at 0% interest for 7 years to cover energy efficiency upgrades, including heat pumps, insulation, and more.

Can I get rebates if I'm a renter?

Yes! Renters can access certain Mass Save® rebates and services, though some upgrades may require landlord approval. No-cost services like the Home Energy Assessment and free energy-saving products are available to all residents. Contact us to learn which programs apply to your rental situation.

Do Mass Save® rebates work with solar installations?

Yes! Mass Save® rebates can be combined with solar installations to maximize your savings. While Mass Save® focuses on energy efficiency improvements, pairing solar with programs like heat pump rebates and insulation creates a comprehensive energy solution. NOVA SYSTEMS can help coordinate both.

What happens during a home energy assessment?

During your assessment, a certified specialist will: inspect your home's insulation, heating/cooling systems, and air leakage; perform blower door and infrared camera tests; install free LED bulbs, smart power strips, and other energy-saving products; provide a detailed report with recommended upgrades and potential rebates; and explain next steps for accessing Mass Save® programs.

How much can I actually save with Mass Save®?

Savings vary based on your home and chosen upgrades, but Massachusetts homeowners typically save 20-40% on annual energy bills after Mass Save® improvements. With rebates covering a significant portion of upgrade costs, your out-of-pocket expenses are minimal while your long-term savings are substantial.

Are Mass Save® rebates taxable?

Generally, Mass Save® rebates are not considered taxable income at the state or federal level, as they are viewed as a reduction in the purchase price. However, tax laws can change, so we recommend consulting with a tax professional for your specific situation.

Can I participate in Mass Save® if I have a multi-family property?

Yes! Multi-family properties (2-4 units) are eligible for Mass Save® residential programs. Properties with 5+ units may qualify for different programs with enhanced incentives. Contact NOVA SYSTEMS to discuss the best options for your property type.

What utilities participate in Mass Save®?

The participating utilities are: Eversource, National Grid, Unitil, Berkshire Gas, Cape Light Compact, and Liberty Utilities. If you receive service from any of these providers, you're eligible for Mass Save® programs.

How do I get started with Mass Save®?

Getting started is easy! Contact NOVA SYSTEMS to schedule your free Home Energy Assessment. We'll guide you through the entire process, help you understand which rebates you qualify for, and connect you with certified contractors to complete your energy upgrades.
